Marcus Benjamin is an award-winning, corporate speaker and consultant, who speaks across the country in various corporate, civic, and academic events, which he has done for nearly 20 years. His company, The Benjamin Agency, has provided coaching, speaking and consulting services to such brands as Nationwide Insurance, Colonial Life, Keller Williams Realty, Ameriprise Financial, Liberty National and the SC Education Lottery. He has provided strategic consulting to companies ranging from startups to 1B in annual revenue. All this is to be celebrated, but the story didn’t start out with such promise.

Marcus was raised in gross poverty in rural SC, regularly being without electricity and other basic necessities. Due to many negative circumstances, his parents ultimately divorced. His mother eventually remarried and is doing well, however, his father died tragically on Fathers’ Day morning 1997.
Earlier in life, Marcus formally failed grades 6-8th and academically, he was ranked near the bottom of his class as a high school freshman. He ended up graduating with honors, was Student Body and Beta Club President and an All-Conference and Region Basketball player. Marcus became the first person in his family to attend and graduate college. He graduated from Winthrop University with a degree in Business and the Smartly Institute with an Executive Masters in Business Administration.
Marcus is a former banker and investment advisor. He is the author of 10 books, multiple online academies and speaks over 50 times each year. Mr. Benjamin is a member of the Vistage Speakers Bureau, National Speakers Association and is a Founding Partner of the world-renowned John Maxwell Speaking & Coaching Team. Marcus has been married to his college sweetheart Omeka for nearly 19 years and they are raising two, scholar-athletes—Marcus Isaiah and Destiny Gabrielle. The currently reside in Lake Wylie, a suburb of Charlotte.
